See All ReviewsFirst time trying this place. We got 2 fried catfish with fried shrimp and 2 fried pork chops, each came with 2 sides and cornbread. Also got one tea and one bottled soda. Over $60+ for the two dinners. 😳 The catfish and pork chops were on point, very delicious. The shrimp didnt taste off, but was very slimy... after taking it home and reheating it, it was fine. We figured it was the coating not cooked through. The breading in the catfish was cornmeal, the way it's supposed to be. The pork chops were nice and thick. Fish and pork chops perfectly seasoned. Mash potatoes with gravy were terrible. Green beans, good. Fries, ok. The cornbread was too sweet. Tea was stale... tried the lemon kool-aid and it was pure sugar, not drinkable. I recommend just getting bottled drinks. Customer service was great. They did check on us to make sure we were happy. No point in complaining though. We really want to go back for the catfish and pork chops again, but $60+ is just too steep for two dinners compared to other restaurants on the island.
Food was on point. Will be definitely going back. I got the 2 fried pork chops plate on a Wednesday! Highly recommend anything you see on my short video
If you’re in Galveston and craving authentic soul food, you HAVE to stop at Soul 2 Soul. I had the fried catfish and it was seasoned to perfection and super crispy. The sides were just as good—the mac n’ cheese is cheesy and comforting, and the cabbage was delicious. Don’t skip the cornbread either! Huge portions and the staff makes you feel right at home. Definitely a 10/10 experience.
